ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING FOR CHATHAM YFC Evon Hedley, Dan, Leighton Ford A reunion of old time YFC'ers in Chatham, October 1997   Perhaps the greatest highlight of my teen years was being involved in the Chatham Youth For Christ .   In September of 1946, after the first season of the Blue Water Bible and Missionary Conference had concluded, and the outstanding speakers and musicians had gone back to their respective ministries, the four of us fellows who had stood to our feet at Dr. Oswald J. Smith’s invitation were now back at CCI.   Leighton stopped me in the hallway one day and said that there was going to be an organizational meeting for Youth For Christ in Chatham that night and thought we should go. The two of us went to that memorable meeting which was held in the Regular Baptist Church , (now known as Emmanuel Baptist Church ) which met in an upstairs hall on King Street.   Evon Hedley was in charge of that organizational meet...

CHATHAM COLLEGIATE INSTITUTE A few ISCF'ers that turned up for a photo  I am at the right, Leighton Ford next to me What impact does high school have on the spiritual life of a student?  I am not aware of what is happening today, but let me share about my high school years (1945-1949) and what contributed to my spiritual growth during those years. At Chatham Collegiate Institute (CCI) we had a weekly Bible club which met in the library.  I should say here that we had a 90 minute lunch break.  Most of the students went home for lunch.  Very few mothers worked out of the home and so they were at home and my mom always had a good hot meal fixed for lunch.  Dad came home from his work for lunch and so did we kids.   There was a cafeteria at the school but it was mostly used by the students from the country who came by school bus, or a basketball team that had a practice.  So, as I said, we had a weekly get together ...
